Casting Corner: Law & Order: Los Angeles, SVU and More

Skeet UlrichHenry Ian Cusick

Law & Order: Los Angeles: Although he understandably won’t be included in the latest Scream film, Skeet Ulrich is not hurting for work. The actor has just been cast in the latest L&O series. This time around Ulrich, as one of the lead detectives, will be helping to hunt down serial killers.

Law & Order: SVU: Lost‘s Henry Ian Cusick will find himself back in the city next season. Cusick, who may end up flirting with a woman not named Penny (try Olivia Benson), will guest as a graphic artist in at least two episodes. Meanwhile, Joan Cusack has been tapped to play a mother of two daughters who go missing years apart.

Desperate Housewives: Will Megan Fox’s new husband be able to win over some other ladies? 90210‘s Brian Austin Green is currently in talks to join the ABC drama on a recurring basis. Green’s hunky contractor character would reportedly double as a love interest for one of the housewives. (Natch.)

General Hospital: Next month, Port Charles will have two new guests checking into town. Beginning August 11, Vanessa Marcil will reprise her role as Brenda Barrett. Vanessa - who’ll return with an “explosive secret” - will stick around this time on a regular basis. Her arrival will be followed up a day later by a short visit from actress Adrienne Barbeau (Maude). Barbeau’s character will have some connection to Brenda.

Gossip Girl: CW may have canceled Melrose Place, but the network is still high on Katie Cassidy. Next fall, the scene stealer will be featured as a Columbia student who manages to snag Nate Archibald. Look for Cassidy to do what she does best (“make trouble”) over several episodes.

Army Wives: Bristol Palin’s horrific acting attempt on Secret Life of the American Teenager hasn’t scared Jill Biden from trying out TV. The wife of Vice President Joe Biden will appear as herself on August 15. Real army wives will join Biden during the episode aimed at promoting the “service and sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and their families” make.
